Rev. Matt Gordon, Sr. Minister
Matt and his wife were married in June 2000 and moved to Spokane, WA and fell in love with the Pacific Northwest. They have three kids and they enjoy cycling, hiking and spending time in the outdoors. Matt has worked in ministry since 1997. He brings the experience of youth ministry, family ministry and even new church planting to his service in Corvallis. He graduated from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, TX (home of the mighty horned frogs) and Pacific School of Religion in Berkeley, CA.
Matthew Clark, Choir Director
My name is Matthew Clark and I am from Colorado originally but grew up in Tucson, Arizona and currently reside in Lebanon, Oregon. I have a BA in Choral Music Education from Oregon State University in 2005 and a MAIS (Masters of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies) in Choral Music Education also from Oregon State University in 2007 where I served as a GTA under the Director of Choral Studies. I also completed a MBA from the University of Phoenix, graduating in July of 2013. I am currently working towards my third Masters degree in Student Affairs in Higher Education through Colorado State University. Since my first trip to Graduate School I have served as the Director of Choirs at Sweet Home High School in Sweet Home, Oregon. My Symphonic Choir has achieved numerous awards and recognitions in the last several years both in the state of Oregon, and in California and Washington, highlighted by their 2nd place finish in the 2011 OSAA 4A State Choir Championships. Starting in November 2011 also became the Director of Choirs at First Christian Church in Corvallis, Oregon.
In my spare time I enjoy being with my three babies Callie, Conner and baby Peyton, my incredible wife Brittney, love being outside, and am an avid sports fan (Go Broncos!!).
Eric Qian, Accompanist
Eric is originally from Minnesota but moved to Corvallis before entering elementary school. He is currently a full-time student at Oregon State University and plans on pursuing a triple major in chemistry, biology, and biochemistry / biophysics while performing as part of the college symphony-orchestra and wind ensemble. After graduating, he plans on applying to medical school. In his spare time, he enjoys playing a multitude of instruments, arranging music for a cappella, appreciating the outdoors, making chocolates, and video gaming.
Jill Shinkawa, Communications Manager
Jill is originally from Honolulu, Hawaii. In 1985 she moved to Corvallis, Oregon and enjoys distance trail and road running and biking around the area. Jill studied Sculpture at the University of Hawaii, Manoa and Graphic Design at Linn-Benton Community College. She has worked as an illustrator and visual designer of various things – graphic, web, software user interface – since 1991. Jill is still figuring out how to “go straight on a road with 99 curves.”
Kevin Weaver, Paladin
Kevin Weaver is a Corvallis native and Corvallis High School grad. He left Corvallis to pursue a football scholarship at Portland State University. While there the Vikings competed for, but did not win the NCAA Division II championship. After P.S.U. Kevin worked in the construction and hospitality industries. Kevin returned to Corvallis in 2009 when John Evans asked him to join the FCC family. After realizing the joys of outreach for the homeless, he has found a home again in Corvallis and is continuing his education to better serve populations in need.
